After my most recent meeting with business friends, I was inspired to share my personal insight on our topic of conversation.
Every single day, we are all faced with these three options: Fast, Good and Cheap.
Fast refers to the time required to deliver the product.
Good is the quality of the product.
Cheap refers to the cost of the product.
These three properties are interrelated, and it is not possible to have all three – one will always suffer.
In other words you have three options that require selecting only two of the three elements listed:
- Design something fast and good, but it will not be cheap.
- Design something fast and cheap, but it will not be good.
- Design something good and cheap, but it will not be fast.
My opinion…CHOOSE GOOD.
Do it right the first time. It just makes sense.
